Twin Hole Bead Bracelet - Jewellery Making Tutorial
Designed by: Livvy Hull
Difficulty: Beginner
We have always loved these bracelets designed by the talented Livvy Hull. We have made them many times and this year we decided to mix it up and make them with Preciosa Pressed Small Candy Twin Hole Beads and CrystaLove Bicones in bubble-gum colours for a pastel summer version.
Ready? Let's Bead!
You can see Livvy's original design and instructions HERE.
- 6mm Two Hole Beads - We used 2 packs of Small Candy Twin Hole Beads for this re-make, but there are a few suitable alternatives: Czech Glass Honeycomb Beads 2 Hole 6mm - Preciosa Pressed Small Candy Twin Hole Bead - Preciosa Czech Glass Pyramid Twin Hole Beads - Swarovski Spike Two Hole Bead 7.5mm
- Size 11 Seed Beads
- Lobster Clasp
- 6mm Bicones - in as many or as few colours as you wish
- Soldered Jump Ring - A split ring would work well too with a larger lobster clasp
- Scissors
- Needle
- Beading Thread - This is personal choice. We used FireLine size D in Smoke
Remember - our tutorials are for inspiration and learning purposes. They include links to the relevant categories for you to choose your own colour combinations and we positively encourage you to experiment with different shapes, sizes, finishes, composition and texture. Why not choose your own beads and colours to achieve something in your own style? Let your imagination run wild and make your dream jewellery.

Step 1
Abbreviations:
BC Bicone Bead
SB Seed Bead
TH Twin Hole Bead
Step 2
Double Row Bracelet
Cut approx. 2 metres of your chosen beading thread and thread through needle.
Leaving a 10cm tail, pick up 2 x SB, 1 x Clasp & 2 x SB. Pass needle back through the first bead to create a loop and continue to pass the needle all the way back through the other beads and clasp to secure.
Pass needle back down 2nd set of SB so that you have 2 x SB either side of the clasp. You are now ready to begin pattern.
Step 3
Add 4 x SB, 1 x TH, 4 x SB . Continue to add in this way until you have reached your desired length.
TIP: When picking up your twin hole beads, ensure you go through the hole on the same same side each time. This will ensure your domes/spikes are all the right way up.
Step 4
Add 2 x SB, 1 x Jump ring and 2 x SB. Repeat step 2 to secure the other end of the clasp.
Pass back down last 2 x SB to continue centre of bracelet.
Step 5
Pick up 4 x SB and push needle through opposite side of TH bead.
Step 6
Pick up 1 x BC and push needle through next TH bead.
Continue to pick up 1 x BC and push needle through TH bead until you get back to the end.
Step 7
Pass needle through the 6 x SB, clasp and other 2 x SB to come out the bottom ready to start 3rd row.
Step 8
Pick up 4 x SB , 1 x TH. Pass needle through BC. Pick up 1 x TH and pass through next BC.
Continue to add TH beads in this way until you have reached the end.
TIP: Again, pass through the same side of the TH bead to ensure symmetry.
Step 9
Pass through 4 of the SB before the jump ring and the 2 x SB, jump ring and 2 x SB loop. Pass back down through the 4th SB.
Step 10
Pick up 4 x SB, pass through the empty hole of the TH bead.
Continue to add 4 x SB and pass through next TH bead until row complete.
Step 11
Secure threads and trim.

Pass needle back down 2nd set of SB so that you have 2 x SB either side of the clasp. You are now ready to begin pattern.
Step 13
Add 2 x SB, 1 x TH, 2 x SB 1 x BC. Continue to add in this way until you have reached your desired length.
