Learn how to make this 'Sunfire' necklace using the spiral stitch.

Step 1

Cut a 3 metre length of Nymo thread on to a size 10 needle. Tie on a size 8 bead (8TR222) as a tension bead, then string on 3 core beads (8TR222) and 3 outside beads (1x 8TR162C,  2x 8TR222 ). Slide the beads down the thread so that you leave a tail of about 8 to10 inches. The tail thread will be used later to sew on the clasp.

Step 2

Pass the needle up through the first 3 core beads just strung and pull tight.

Step 3

String 1 core bead (1x 8TR162CF) and 3 outside beads (1x 8TR222, 2x 8TR162CF). Pass up through the previous 3 core beads added. Pull tight.

Step 4

Pass through the core bead last strung and pull tight, flipping the loop of outside beads to the right.

Step 5

Repeat steps 3 and 4 to your desired length.

Step 6

Adding your Chips
Tie on a 2 metre thread, weave it throught the spiral to your chosen point. The thread on a stone chip and a seed bead and go back through the chip only and push the needle throught to the next chip placement point.

Step 7
