Create this cute Strawberry Cupcake Pendant for a Necklace using Fimo, inspired by The Great British Bake Off!!
Step 1
To make this cute little Strawberry Cupcake Necklace inspired by The Great British Bake Off, you will need four colours of the Fimo clay. This includes the Chocolate Staedtler Fimo (dark brown), White Staedtler Fimo, Tropical Green Staedtler Fimo and Christmas Red Staedtler Fimo.
Step 2
To make the base of your cupcake you will need to tear off a piece of the white clay and a small amount of the chocolate as we are going to merge the two colours together. Once merged roll into a ball measuring approximately 2.5 cm.
Step 3
Using your index finger slowly angle the end of your Fimo with a rolling movement creating a cupcake base shape with the dome still on top.
Step 4
Pat down the top of the cupcake slightly and then using a bristle brush prod the top surface of the cupcake to create small indentations creating a cake texture. The cupcake base remember to make small line indentations with a knife tool creating the cupcake base.
Step 5
Now take a large amound of the white and a small amount of the red merge those together creating a pink marble effect in the clay. If you want a solid pink merge until no white or red is showing and the clay is pink only. This will become the frosting on top of our cake.
Step 6
Once the pink is rolled into a sausage, feed this through a piping nozzle until you have approximately 5 cm of piped clay.
Step 7
Attach one end of the piped Fimo to the cupcake on top and twisting round in a spiral shape you should get a frosting look on top of your cupcake.
Step 8
Now using the red Fimo create a small strawberry shape. Using a pin create the pips in the strawberry by poking into the surface slightly. Using the green Fimo create a leaf shape and attach this to the top of your strawberry. After your strawberry is complete, attach your strawberry to the top of your cupcake.
Step 9
Take an eye pin and cut to size using pliers and scissors.
Step 10
Poke the pointy end through the centre of your cupcake at the top. Attach a small jump ring through the eye of your eye pin; this will be how you attach the pendant to a necklace chain.
Step 11
Now your cupcake is ready to be baked. Place the cupcake in the oven on a tray for 30 minutes at 100 degrees to harden the clay off. Once your timer buzzes take the cupcake out the oven and leave to cool for approximately half an hour or until completely cool to the touch. Then using pliers attach the cupcakes to a necklace chain.
