Create personalised jewellery using Swarovski BeCharmed Letter beads, mix with size 8 seed beads to design a beautiful Kumihimo bracelet. View all our Swarovski BeCharmed Letter beads here!
Please note that this design including the clasp creates a 7” bracelet, if you require a longer length add more seed beads to your design and measure against your wrist as you go along.
Cut 8 strands of s-lon cord approx. 40” long. Tie all the threads together in a knot in the centre. Place the knot through the centre of the Kumihimo braiding board. Let the ends dangle down.
Set up the Kumihimo board for a normal 8 strand braid (one strand either side of each dot). If you are new to Kumihimo please click here to view our tutorial for guidance.
Thread 15 seed beads of your choice on to each strand and place a bobbin on the end. Start braiding, using each strand once without any beads to begin (this should sit inside your Swarovski bead). Now start adding your beads, adding a bead to every strand.
Braid until you have used all the beads. Create 1.5cm of braided thread, tie at knot at the end.
Place your beaded section down through the Kumihimo disk and place the Swarovski bead on to all 8 strands so it covers the centre knot. Set up for braiding as before, threading on beads in the same way. Braid in the same way as the other side. Create a knot at the other end to secure your braid.
You should now have 2 beaded sections with the Swarovski bead in the centre. Place glue underneath the knot at one end of your bracelet, cut off the knot and add more glue into one end of the clasp. Repeat for the other side.
