Simple Droplet Earrings - Jewellery Making Tutorial

Difficulty: Beginner

Rating:

These earrings are so quick and simple to make that anyone can try them. It's also incredibly easy to make them unique too, simply by changing the colour, shape and size of beads. I made these to brighten an ivory summer top. What will inspire your creation? Do you have 5 minutes to give them a go? Let's get Creative!

You can add all the items you need to your basket by clicking the box in the 'Products used' section above, or you can let your imagination run wild and choose your own materials from the links below. Please note that the colours for the products illustrated in the image above may not match the 'Products List'.

We believe that jewellery should be as individual as you are and so our tutorials are for inspiration and learning purposes. They include links to the relevant categories for you to choose your own colour combinations and we positively encourage you to experiment with different shapes, sizes, finishes, composition and texture. Why not choose your own beads and colours to achieve something in your own style? Let your creative imagination run wild and make your dream piece of jewellery.

Step 1

To begin, open the Droplet Earring Base.

These can be a little stubborn to undo - don't worry if both sides come out.

Step 1

Step 2

Add your beads to the droplet. I added mine in this order:

3 x 2mm round
2 x Orion White AB Bead
3 x 2mm round
5 x Orion Lime Bead
3 x 2mm round
2 x Orion White AB Bead
3 x 2mm round

Step 1

Step 3

Push the wires back into the tip. You can see from the image that one side was a struggle to get all the way back in. Just try not to bend the wire and ensure it is secure.

Put them back one at a time. If you are using heavier beads or the wires are a loose fit, add a dab of glue to the end of the wire first. Allow to fully dry before you continue.

Step 4

Add a large jump ring from the Findings Kit to the lower hole on the tip.

The tips are very thin so it is very important that you ensure your jump rings are fully closed or they will fall off. Those new to beading might find thus video useful.

Step 2

Step 5

Using a small jump ring from the Findings kit, attach the flower charm to the large jump ring.

Step 1

Step 6

Take a pair of earwires from the Findings Kit. Open the loop on an earwire and attach it to the top hole of the droplet tip.

Step 2

Step 7

Repeat all steps for a second earring. And they are ready to wear!
