Seed Bead Embroidery Pendant
Designed by: Sarah Goode
Draw a rectangle on a piece of felt with chalk. I use dressmakers chalk.
Sew on some hematite chips in random places.
Start sewing on your seeds beads in concentric circles using back stitch (e.g. Knot your thread and come from underneath. Add a bead and go back through the material. Come back up through the bead and go through the bead. Add another bead and go down to secure it. Come back up behind the bead and go through it. Repeat.)
Keep sewing around the beads in concentric circles with different seed beads until you are happy with your design.
Then fill any other spaces with stripes of seed beads.
Cut the backing felt as close to the beads as possible without cutting any of your stitches.
Cut another piece of felt exactly the same size.
Attach your thread at the corner of one side. Add a bead and using blanket stitch, attach the backing felt to the front beaded piece. Add a new bead each time you do a new stitch and go back through it from entrance like you did with the back stitch earlier.
When finished, add a brooch back to make into a brooch, or add a few loops to make into a pendant.
