Sakura Headpiece

Difficulty: Intermediate

The "Sakura" headpiece is a divine piece inspired by Japanese Geisha.  Full of Swarovski crystal and delicate detailing, it is a true oriental dream.

Step 1

Start by making the large flower. Place a bicone bead on to approx. 15cm of wire and place in the centre. Twist the wire to keep it in place.

Step 2

Thread a wooden bead on to the wire and position next to the bicone bead.

Step 3

Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have 5 petals.

Step 4

Place an aqua bicone bead on to a length of wire and twist to make the centre. Hold all these pieces together in a flower form.

Step 5

Twist all the ends together to keep the flower in place. For more help making wire flowers watch the video tutorial below.

Step 6

Attach the flower to the left side of the hair comb and wrap around, taking some pieces separately around the comb and leaving some longer than the others.

Step 7

Using the left over wire - I used BG1458, AC90, AC166.

Placing the bead down the wire I used the same technique for the geisha flower by twisting making sure no loose wire was protruding out.

Step 8

Making the blossom flowers - I used LMA0421, MF142FR

Use the same technique for the geisha flower and then wrap around the comb, again leave loose wire to add more beads and twist each in to place.

Step 9

Geisha Dangle - Using AC766, AC743 and BG1464 & SW1

Place the Artemis bead on an eyepin and create a wrapped loops at the other end. Do this with 9 Amethyst Artemis beads and 9 Light Amethyst artemis beads. Repeat the same process with 21 aqua bicone beads and join together to form 3 chains.

Step 10

Use wire to wrap the 3 chains underneath the main flower, and add a Swarovski flower charm to the end of each chain.
