Follow the steps to make this beautiful 'Peyote Paradise' bracelet, using seed beads and hematite tubes.

Step 1

Add a metre of thread to your needle. Pick up 1 x Turq 8TR and slide it down to approx six inches from the end of the thread. Pass through the bead again to form a loop around the bead and create a ‘stopper’. Pick up 1 x Turq 8TR, 1 x hematite tube, 2 x Alum 8TR, 1 x hematite tube and 2 x Turq 8TR.

Step 2

Pick up 1 x Turq 8TR and pass through bead 7 as in diagram. Pick up 1 x hematite tube and pass through bead 5 as in the diagram. Pick up 1 Alum 8TR and pass through bead 3 as in the diagram. Pick up 1 x Turq 8TR and pass though bead 1 as in the diagram.

Step 3

Pick up 1 x Turq 8TR and pass through bead 12 as in the diagram. Pick up 1 x hematite tube and pass through bead 11 as in the diagram. Pick up 1 x Alum 8TR and pass though bead 10 as in the diagram. Pick up 1 x Turq 8TR and pass though bead 9 as in the diagram.

Step 4

Continue to add beads in the same manner as steps 2 and 3 until your work measures 5.5 cm.

Step 5

Pass back through the entire bead path of the last 2 rows of beads added, ensuring you exit ‘in’ from the top outer Turq 8TR beads.

Step 6

Pick up 11 x Alum 11TR beads, 1 x Swarovski Column Bead and 3 x Alum 11TR beads. Skipping the 3 x Alum 11TR beads just added, pass back down through the Swarovski Column Bead and 4 of the Alum 11TR beads previously added. Pick up 6 x Alum 11TR beads and pass through the Turq 8TR beads on the other side of the strap. Pass though all stages of step 6 and the last row added on the strap as many times as your beads, thread and needle will allow to strengthen.  Weave through the strap in any direction, knotting in several places and hiding the knots between beads. Trim excess thread.

Step 7

Thread your needle with another half metre of thread. Weave through the strap in any direction, knotting in several places and hiding the knots between beads. Weave until your thread exits at the same point (but at the opposite end of the strap) as in step 5.

Step 8

Pick up 31 x Alum 11TR beads. Skipping 20 x Alum 11TR beads, pass back through the 11th, 10th, 9th and 8th beads just added.
