Create a beautiful personalised card for any occasion with ImpressArt. We personally love this collection and the endless art and craft designs you can produce with all the items available to purchase. Read our 'Impress with the ImpressArt Personalising Collection' on our blog to get a full idea of what the range is about. Here is a step by step on how to make a personalised card for any occasion to give to friends and family for birthdays, weddings, get well, thank you, engagements etc.
Firstly, take a sheet of card in your preferred colour, mine is white as I am demonstrating a wedding card. Fold the card to the size you want as your finished design and score down the fold on both sides leaving a crisp fold ready for embellishing later. Place to one side and let's get on with the fun part.
Next, we want to take the small heart blanks or whatever shape you choose and using two of these blanks we want to create two holes on each side of the shapes. This is so we can attach them to our card later. Using the ImpressArt Hole Punch you want to take the blank and place two holes either side, really you need them as close to the sides of the blank as possible.
Once secured or lying on the stamping block, choose your letter stamps from the ImpressArt Lowercase Letter Embossing Stamps Set and place directly above just resting on the blank; ensuring you have the full 3 mm metal stamp completely flat on the blank. If not flat the whole design will not translate onto your blank when performing the next step.
Using the ImpressArt Stamping Hammer you need to tap once and hard onto the end of your stamp which will then hopefully if you have followed the steps correctly translate your design onto your blank. Remove the stamp to view your design underneath.
Now you can leave the design as it is or if you would like the design to be more visible then you can use the ImpressArt Black Marker to drag over the small imprint, leave for a couple of minutes and then wipe off with a piece of dry tissue and the ink should have seeped into the imprint leaving it black giving you an oxidized look.
Now you need that card base back that we created earlier on, take the two blanks and using a needle thread with your chosen colour of thread and stitch both the blanks to the front of your card keeping the loops tight and tie off.
Now to hide the threads inside the card, this step isn't essential but using a patterned piece of paper you can attach the paper inside the card with a small amount of glue down the fold...And voilà you have yourself a card for any occasion that is perosnalised creating something a little bit extra for your friends and family.
This be pricey hobby to set up and get the initial pieces, however once you have the equipment you won't need to replace them and the possibilities are endless when it comes to designing and personalising your own items.
