It has been known for a long time that I love handicrafts - beads, yarns, strings etc. I have never, for a moment, given up my hobby. As halloween is coming up, I decided to make these cute little spiders from beads. Let's stitch!

Materials needed;

  • Wire - 0.6 mm is the best. I used 0.8mm this time and it was a bit more difficult to make spiders. On the thinner one,  its best to use Toho 11/0 beads, on a wire with a thickness of 0.8, use TOHO 8/0.
  • Toho beads 11/0 or 8/0. Depending on whether you chose to work with 0.8mm wire or 0.6mm.
  • Beads For the body/head - some bigger and some smaller. Most often we use 12 or 10mm and 8 or 6mm.
  • Crystals in 3mm or 4mm. They can be Crystalove or Firepolish.
  • Tools for trimming and creating loops.
  • Headpins about 50mm long

Step 1

Cut 4 pieces of wire. Cut them 7cm long. Fold the loops in the middle. We create this using our round nose pliers.
Thread a larger bead onto the pin.

Step 2

We now make the legs. Thread toho beads and, for example, one crystal between them. It all depends on how you want them to look. With 11/0 beads at the ends, twist a delicate wire for the last bead. But you can also make small eyes on the ends of the legs. With a thin wire, this is very simple. When it is thick like ours, you have to be careful not to damage the beads.

Step 3

We put the feet on the pin. So that the loop is underneath. So the circles that we put on a pin will all be under the spider's belly. Then the legs will be easy to arrange.

Step 4

We put the head on and press it against the legs. We make a circle of wire behind the head. It must be quite tight so that our legs do not fly too much. If necessary, cut the wire so that the circle is quite neat.

Our little creature isn't quite ready. We need to bend his legs.

And our spider is ready!

We made him some friends!
