NIB-BIT beads are a rainbow of colours. Jewellery made of these beads will definitely charm more than one of your friends. Our Alicja Czapla has been in a beading trance recently and she’s been making new bracelets back to back and, eventually, she’s prepared a tutorial for you. In the tutorial she shows how to make a simple Matubo bracelet. You will make it quickly and it’s very glamorous due to NIB-BIT beads. So, if you have some spare time, sit down and make it!

Supplies used in this project:
- Matubo NIB-BIT beads – 2 packets
- Matubo Gemduo beads - 1 packet
- 15/0 TOHO or TOHO Treasure beads
- Jump rings
- Decorative charm
- Thread – I’ve been using KO threads recently, but you may use any other as well
- Beading needle
- Pincers or pliers to attach the clasp
If you would like to make a Matubo bracelet, there is no better companion in creating than Alicja. Let’s get to work!
Prepare a thread and string 1 Gemduo bead and 9 TOHO.
Pass the needle through the beads, as shown in the picture, leaving a quite long tail thread.
String 1 NIB-BIT and 1 Gemduo alternately.
Sometimes there are beads without holes, so before you start stringing make sure each bead has got two holes.
At this stage we need to pass the needle through the bottom holes of NIB-BIT beads.
Gemduo beads have one side flat and the other is raised, so we need to remember to string them the same side up each time.
Remember to pull the thread tightly all the time, but make sure you won’t get it out of the beads.
As you have strung the desirable length of the beads (in my case: 26 Gemduos and 25 NIB-BITs) it’s time to make the closing.
String 9 TOHO beads and pass the needle through the 2nd hole of the Gemduo bead.
Add 1 NIB-BIT between Gemduo beads (passing through the bottom holes).
Continue until you have finished the row. The thread should come out of a Gemduo bead.
Pass the needle through TOHO beads. String 3 TOHO beads and pass the needle through the top hole of the NIB-BIT bead.
Add 1 15/0 TOHO bead between NIB-BIT beads until you have completed the whole row. At the end, add 3 TOHO beads and pass the needle through TOHO beads. String 3 TOHO beads again and pass the needle through the top hole of the NIB-BIT bead.
And again, add 1 TOHO bead between NIB-BITs.
It’s almost finished. Pass the needle through the beads so that the thread is placed next to the tail thread. Tie a knot using both threads and pass the threads to hide the knot in a bead. Attach the jump rings, the clasp and the charm. Our bracelet is finally finished.
I think you will not have any problems with the tutorial, but if anything is unclear – feel free to ask.
