Probably each of us have left over beads in a drawer from old projects, which are difficult to use because of their quantity. Paula Banaszak will show you in this tutorial how to make earrings with TOHO beads using the rest of your left over beads! Do you have everything ready?! Then let's begin! :)

Materials needed;

TOHO beads - in three sizes: 15/0, 11/0 and 8/0 (I used two colours in size 11/0)
Beads - 8mm Round
Jewellery thread
Earwires
Jewellery needle
Scissors

Our tutorials are for inspiration and learning purposes. They include links to the relevant categories for you to choose your own colour combinations and we positively encourage you to experiment with different shapes, sizes, finishes, composition and texture. Why not choose your own beads and colours to achieve something in your own style? Let your imagination run wild and make your dream piece of jewellery.

Please note that the colours for the products illustrated in the image above may not match the 'Products List'.

Step 1

Thread about 80 cm of thread. We go through the 'Galaxy' bead with the needle.

Step 1

Step 2

Thread 8 x 11/0's and tie the ends of the thread (3 knots). We have the first wall of beads :).

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 3

We go again through the Galaxy bead.

Step 1

Step 4

Thread 4 x 11/0's again.

Step 5

We go through the Galaxy so that the beads (11/0) encase it. A second wall is formed.

Step 1

Step 6

Thread 1 x 11/0 and pass the needle through the beads from the first wall.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 7

Thread 2 x 11/0's and go through the other side of the beads.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 8

Thread 1 x 11/0 and go through the first wall beads and beads at the hole of the Galaxy bead.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 9

Now we make a peyote stitch, i.e. we add one bead, going through every other Galaxy bead. When adding the last bead, we go through 2 beads.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 10

We add another row, this time size 15/0's. Again, when adding the last 15/0, we go through 2 beads.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 11

We add the second row of 15/0's. At the last bead we go through 2. We draw the thread tightly.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 12

Going through the beads (diagonally), we head to the other side of the Galaxy bead.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 13

We add a row of beads 11/0 (peyote stitch), see step 9.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 14

We add 2 rows of 15/0 beads.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 15

Going through the beads, we head to the top of the 'basket'.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 16

We add one bead, as in the picture :).

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 17

Finally, we go through the first bead added.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 18

Add between (added beads), 3 x 11/0's (for me - pink). We add the whole lap in this way.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 19

Adding the last 3 beads, we go through the first added (pink) so that the needle comes out of the middle bead. Just like in the picture.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 20

Thread 5 Toho 11/0, ear wire, 2 Toho 11/0.

Step 1

Step 21

Move aside the 2 nearest Galaxy beads and pass the needle once more through the others (and through the bigiel). Then we go through 1 bead, as in the photo.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 22

Thread 2 x 11/0's and go through the middle pink bead, as in the picture.

Step 1

Step 23

We thread 1 Toho 11/0, 1 Toho 8/0 and 1 Toho 11/0. We go through another central pink bead, as in the photo. In this way we complete the entire lap.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 24

Adding the last sequence, we go through the beads that serve as a hoop on which the bigiel is mounted. Then we head to the first sequence added with a bead 8/0. We pass the same thread through the entire lap once more, each time avoiding the 8/0 bead. We stretch the thread each time and slightly help the skipped bead "jump" up!

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

Step 8

Step 9

Step 25

We follow the thread to the tail of the thread, we tie the ends. We hide the ends (and the knot) in beads, and cut excess thread.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

Step 8

Step 9

Step 26

The earring is ready. We make a second one and you're done :). Share yours on our Facebook Group.
