Jewellery with crystals is a timeless trend. For a wedding, party, work or a romantic walk - this necklace will work fabulously! Edyta will show you how to bead around rivoli crystals to get the shape of a square to make a stunning pendant. Be sure to try it... the end result will exceed your expectations

You can add all the items you need to your basket by clicking the box in the 'Products used' section above, or you can let your imagination run wild and choose your own materials from the links below. Please note that the colours for the products illustrated in the image above may not match the 'Products List'.

Glass Bonny Rivoli - 12 mm
Toho Round 15/0 beads - for me it is Opaque-Rainbow-Frosted / Rainbow Iris
Toho Round 11/0 beads - 4 pcs in the same colour
Bail
Chain - about 50 cm
Clasp
Split Rings - 2 units
Beading Thread -  monofilament works very well
Needle - thin so that it goes through the tiny TR15 / 0 - size 12

Remember - our tutorials are for inspiration and learning purposes. They include links to the relevant categories for you to choose your own colour combinations and we positively encourage you to experiment with different shapes, sizes, finishes, composition and texture. Why not choose your own beads and colours to achieve something in your own style? Let your imagination run wild and make your dream piece of jewellery.

Designed by Edyta Rogowska - June 2021

Step 1

We thread 4 sequences on the thread in the order 1 bead TR11 / 0 and 11 beads TR15 / 0, to a total of 48 beads

Step 1

Step 2

Step 2

We close the beads in a circle - we pass the needle through the first sequence so that the thread comes out of the TR11 / 0 bead. We leave a "tail" of about 10-15 cm, which will be used later to finish the work.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Add one TR15 / 0 bead between the previously threaded beads. We stick a needle into every other bead. Finishing the round, we pass the needle through two beads - the last one in the previous row and the first one added

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

Step 8

Step 4

In the next round, again add one TR15 / 0 bead between the beads added in the previous row, with the difference, however, that we omit the addition above the TR11 / 0 beads (these will be the tops of our square). We remember that when we finish the round we pass the needle through two beads - the last one in the previous row and the first one added

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 5

In the next round we continue to add 15/0 beads between those added in the previous row and again over the vertex 11/0, skip adding beads.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 6

When we pull the thread a little, we notice that the braid starts to take the shape of a square

Step 1

Step 7

We make one more lap. This time on each side of the square we add 1 bead 15/0, pass the thread through the middle bead up and down and again add 1 bead 15/0 between those from the previous row. Just like in the pictures

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 8

Above the vertex of 11/0, skip the addition of beads and, at the end of the round, pass the needle through two beads

Step 1

Step 2

Step 9

Now we can try our crystal to the braid, even though it seems loose at the moment, do not worry

Step 1

Step 10

We continue our work (without a crystal inside). We pass the thread between the beads to the back of the braid and add 15/0 beads between all protruding ones and, similarly to step 4, skip over the TR11 / 0 beads and when we finish the round, always go through two beads

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 11

We make one more round without a crystal. We go over the vertex 11/0 and add one TR15 / 0 bead between those from the previous row

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 12

At this point, the braid should look like this: on the front ...

Step 1

Step 13

… And behind

Step 1

Step 14

It is tighter and it sticks better to the crystal. Now we put the rivoli inside and continue to work with the crystal inside.

Step 1

Step 15

In the next lap we are still adding TR15 / 0, with the difference that we are also adding them where we have skipped the addition so far.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 16

We make the last lap. We add one 15/0 bead between all protruding from the previous row and over the top 11/0, two 15's.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 17

We pass the thread through the beads to the apex TR11 / 0.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 18

We take 6 15/0 beads and insert the needle into the 11/0 bead from which the thread comes out. In this way, we create a circle on which we attach the tie. We go through all the beads once more to strengthen the connection. We tie the thread with a double knot with the "tail" left at the beginning of the work. We put both ends of the thread as far away from the knot as possible and cut off their excess.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 19

Attach the bail to the ring that has just been made

Step 1

Step 2

Step 20

Attach the split rings and a clasp on the chain

Step 1

Step 2

Step 21

And it's ready  to wear!

Step 1

Step 22
