Step 1

Cut 30cm of cord, tape the top end of the cord onto a surface or use a macramé board. Add 11 x 8mm bicone beads to the cord and tape the bottom end of the cord. I used 11 beads in the center which creates a 7" bracelet this also includes the ends/clasp.

Step 1

Step 2

Cut 1 metre of cord, thread under the main cord to the half way point and create 2 square knots. (leave at least a 10cm tail) Here is a useful video on how to create a square knot.  Push one of the 8mm bicone beads up from the centre cord, add 3x 4mm bicone beads onto both braiding cords.

Step 1

Step 3

Create a full square knot. Then repeat step 2, this is where you an alternative the beads or you can keep the same colour throughout your bracelet.

Step 2

Step 4

Finish on 2 square knots. Use a thread zapper or glue to secure the ends of the braiding cord.

Step 1

Step 5

Thread on a calotte onto the end of the main cord, tie a double knot and hide inside the calotte, you could add a small amount of glue inside the calotte. Close the calotte with pliers and close the loop of the calotte with round nose pliers. Add another calotte to the other end and repeat.

Click here for a useful video tutorial on how to use a calotte.
