Are you searching for some inspiration using chain? Well, Kasia has the perfect tutorial for you. She will show you how to make this statement chain necklace using two types/sizes of chain. The beautiful layered affect is very easy to create and a perfect project to start on if you are new to the beading world. The charm and bead in the centre of the design can be changed to something of your choice, which is great if you wanted the necklace to match with a specific outfit. The colours, sizes and bead choice is yours, so gather your beads and lets start making your very own handmade masterpiece :)
Ready? Let's bead.
Materials needed:
Swarovski™ sew on stone - in the main image a skull charm has been used however, any type of connector, charm, bead will work with this design. The choice is yours.
CrystaLove™ 10mm faceted round or any type of 10mm round bead
Eyepin - long enough to fit your 10mm round bead and to make a loop.
Jump ring
Chain - two different types and sizes of chain
Lobster clasp

Please note that the colours for the products illustrated in the image above may not match the 'Products List'.
Step 1
We start the necklace by dividing the chains, which we will then connect with each other. Cut one section of cable chain measuring 45cm long. Attach the clasp to one end using a jump ring and on the other end attach a jump ring.
Step 2
The next two sections of the cable chain should be cut to size so that they are about 15cm long. With the curb chain cut off: 2 sections 16cm long, 2 sections 14cm, 2 sections 10cm and 3 sections 2cm each.
Step 3
We thread the 10mm bead on to an eyepin, cut any excess wire and make a loop on the other end with round nose pliers. Attach a jump ring to the Swarovski sew on stone and attach to the loop just created on the eyepin. Attach another jump ring to the other end of the stone, don't close it fully yet as you will need to loop on the 3x 2cm chains to make a tassel with them.
(Please note the image shows a skull bead however, you can use any type of charm/connector of your choice to create this design)
Step 4
On both sides of the pendant/10mm round bead we attach the remaining cable chains. We attach them in such a way that they form a loose arch.
Step 5
We fasten the curb chains in the same way.
Step 6
There you have it, your very own layered chain necklace. We hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and feel free to share your creations on our Facebook group :)
