Information about this project
Create your own beautiful Flat Spiral Weave Bracelet using 6mm Semi Precious Rounds and 4mm CrystaLove™ Bicones! It's a quick make with nice rhythmical steps that are easy to follow. You can use any 6mm round with any 4mm bead for this design and it can look very different just by choosing a different finish for your seed beads or size/shape of the beads.
*The step by step images show the bracelet made with 6mm & 4mm pearls. For this project, we refer to the 4mm pearl or bicone simply as 4mm bead.
Tips: Do not turn your work over during stitching to ensure that the chevron pattern is facing the same way throughout.
If using a thread like One-G™ or Nymo, it is important to keep your tension tight throughout.
Our tutorials are mostly for inspiration and learning purposes. Why not choose your own beads and colours to achieve something in your own style?
Cut 2 arm spans of thread and string a stopper bead. Position it 20cm from the end of the thread. Sew through the stopper a second time (taking care not to spear the thread as you sew through it). This will stop the initial beads from sliding off.
Pick up 2 x 6mm beads - these form the centre part of the beadwork. Then pick up 4 x seed beads, 1 x 4mm bead and 4 more seed beads. Loop them around and sew through both 6mm beads.
Duplicate the loop formed in step 2 by picking up 4 x seed beads, 1 x 4mm bead and 4 x seed beads. Loop them around and sew through the 2 x 6mm beads, this time forming a loop on the other side.
Pick up 1 x 6mm bead. Then pick up 4 x seed beads, 1 x 4mm bead and 4 x seed beads. Loop them around and sew through the last 2 x 6mm beads.
Duplicate the loop formed in step 4 by picking up 4 x seed beads, 1 x 4mm bead and 4 x seed beads. Loop them around and sew through the last 2 x 6mm beads in the beadwork. Position the loop on either side. Continue by repeating steps 4 and 5, making sure each time you repeat the loops, they sit on top of those already placed.
Pick up 3 x seed beads, one end of your clasp and 3 more seed beads. Pass back through the last 6mm exited. Knot the thread to the beadwork and pass through the next 6mm bead. Knot the thread again and pass through the next 6mm bead along.
Now working back towards the clasp, pass through the beadwork again, including loops of seed beads & bicones and the clasp to reinforce all. Tie off and trim thread.
Remove your stopper bead and thread the tail onto a needle. Repeat step 6 for the other side of the clasp. Using a jump ring, attach a charm to one side of the clasp if you have not used the tear drop with lobster clasp.
