How to make a fine TOHO Treasure bracelet – a step by step jewellery making tutorial
Designed by: Alicja Czapla
Difficulty: Intermediate
The whole handicrafts world has gone nuts for fine, beaded bracelets and that’s not surprising. They are adorable, they can be worn all the time and they are perfect for any occasion. Alicja Czapla has decided to put her yarns away for a moment and get back to beads to show you how to make these lovely bracelets. We are fascinated with these bracelets and we are sure you will also love them! So let’s begin!
Supplies used in this project:
- TOHO Treasure size 11/0 beads – one packet is enough to make several bracelets
- 15/0 TOHO Round beads - one packet is enough to make several bracelets
- Lobster clasp – 10mm, stainless steel
- Beading thread – KO – they are now my favourite ones
- Beading needle
- Scissors
Step 1
We will use size 11/0 TOHO Treasure beads in 1-9 steps.
String 2 beads.
Step 2
Pass the needle through the beads strung once again.
Step 3
Place the beads so that they sit next to each other and tie a knot.
Step 4
Now we will add the beads. String 1 bead and, if the thread comes out of the top of the previous bead, pass the needle up through the bead you exited.
Step 5
We’ve got 3 beads and the thread comes out of the middle one. Pass the needle so that the thread comes out of the last bead.
Step 6
String 1 bead and, if the thread comes out at the bottom of the last bead, pass the needle up through the bead.
Step 7
And again, pass the needle so that the thread comes out of the last bead.
Step 8
Continue adding the beads until you have reached the desired length (I used the wrist circumference). Later, as you add the clasp it will be 10-15 mm longer.
Step 9
The thread doesn’t need to come out of the last bead.
Step 10
From now on we will work with 15/0 TOHO beads only. Attach the clasp. String 3 beads, the clasp and again 3 beads and pass the needle through the last bead to make a loop. Pass the needle through the loop once again.
Step 11
We will make picots now. The thread should come out of the last TOHO Treasure bead, right there where the clasp was attached. String 3 15/0 TOHO and pass the needle through the next bead.
Step 12
String 3 beads and pass the needle through the bead, as shown in the picture.
Step 13
Pass the needle so that the thread comes out of the 1st bead – the one with no picot.
Step 14
and repeat the 11 and 12th step.
Step 15
Continue until you have reached the last bead.
Step 16
Now we need to make a loop to attach the second part of the clasp.
String 9 beads and pass the needle through the bead, as shown in the picture.
Step 17
Pass the needle through this loop once again, tie a knot and hide it between the beads.
Step 18
The bracelet is finished. Now you know how to make a fine bracelet using TOHO Treasure beads.
Step 19
So now you can create your own bracelets! We can imagine how colourful they are going to be. Oh, they’re going to be really beautiful. Each of them different, each of them unique! We want to admire your bracelets with you on our Facebook group.
