For you and your eyes only ;) Leah Connolly will show you how to create this cherry choker necklace using Gemduo beads, along with the beautiful new FancyCharm™ and SweetCharm™ range. Why don't you have a go at making this delicious cherry choker necklace?

Hello lovely beaders, I couldn't resist using these cute cherry charms in my design and they go perfectly well with the GemDuo cherry coloured beads :) This fruitalicious design will brighten up your day and it is really easy to make.

Suppliers used for this project:

GEMDUO™ - I used the cherry coloured beads 8x5mm pearl coat

TOHO™ - size 8/0 rounds in opaque lustered Lt beige

Thread - monofilament cord 0.5mm or a fine thread would work like Nymo or KO

SweetCharm™ - For the center of the necklace I used a larger cherry charm 27x20x3mm

FancyCharm™ - I used a smaller cherry charm for the back of the necklace 17x16x6mm

Extension chain - if you have a long chain in your beading stash you could cut this to size for your extension chain.

Lobster Clasp - gold lobster clasp 7x12mm

Jump Rings - 6mm gold jump rings

Ready, steady, let's bead!

Step 1

Cut 1 metre of cord, thread on 4 x size 8/0 seed beads to the half way point of your cord.

Step 1

Step 2

Thread on a GemDuo bead onto both strands, as seen in the picture below:

Step 1

Step 3

Add on 1 8/0 seed bead onto both strands and continue until your desired length. Top tip - the GemDuo beads have a flat side and a domed side so make sure you thread them on all in the same way.

Step 1

Step 4

Once you have reached the end of your necklace, finish off on a GemDuo bead and add 4 x seed beads, like we did in step 1.

Step 5

Tie a double knot with the cords and add a dab of glue or clear nail varnish on the knot.

Step 1

Step 6

Twist open a jump ring with your pliers and loop it through one of the seed beads at the end of your necklace. Add on another jump ring, twist close the jump ring. With the second jump ring just added, twist open and attach onto your clasp.

Step 1

Step 7

Twist open a jump ring and loop it through a seed bead on the other end of the necklace. Attach your extension chain and twist close the jump ring. Add a jump ring onto the end of the extension chain and attach the cherry charm, close the jump ring.

Step 1

Step 8

To attach the larger cherry charm onto your necklace, twist open a jump ring and loop it through the loop in the cherry charm, twist close the jump ring. Twist open another jump ring and attach it to the jump ring on the charm. Find the center of your necklace and loop the jump ring through a seed bead. Now twist close the jump ring.
