Monika gives you her recipe to create this wonderful brick stitch star necklace tutorial. We are sure you will enjoy this tutorial as you can create this design in a variety colours, using elegant and subdued versions as well as fabulously colourful. The choice of colour is down to you,

Materials Needed;

Step 1

We will be sewing with Brick Stitch. If this stitch is difficult for you, it may be worth starting with such small forms. Toho Treasure will make it even easier because they have a perfect shape for learning this stitch. First, cut a piece of thread and add two outer colour beads.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 2

Now we go through the first bead one more time from the bottom.

In order to ensure the beads do not break, I take the needle down again. I tie a knot at both ends and come back with the thread to the top.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 3

We add another bead. We take it on our needle and pierce the bead from which the thread comes out, but from the bottom.

And we pass the needle so that the thread comes out of the outer bead.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 4

We add another bead. According to the pattern, we now take the second colour of bead. I used blue.

We pass so that the thread protrudes from the outer, just added bead.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 5

We keep adding beads until we have 7 in a row.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 6

We pass to the next row. According to the diagram, we go down, i.e. we make the 4th row. The thread should protrude from the second bead. If it is not then just go for it. We take two beads. One outer colour is the other colour of the centre of the star. We pierce under the second thread. Just like in the picture.

And we pass from the bottom through the bead inside the star.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 7

We take another bead. For me, according to the pattern, it is blue. We go through the next thread.

And we pass through the bead from the bottom.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 8

This is how we add beads to the end of this row, sticking to the diagram as far as the colours are concerned.

We have something like the picture.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

Step 9

Now we go over the beads as shown in the picture so that the thread comes out of the second bead in row 4.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 10

The thread comes out of the second bead from the edge. We take two beads. Silver and blue for me. And we make this row like the previous one, sticking to the pattern in terms of colours.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 11

At the end of the row, the thread comes out of the outer bead. We're going to expand now. We take two beads and go under the first thread, this time. And we make another row almost like the previous ones. The change will be after adding a bead under the last thread.

We add a bead under the last thread.

And now we add one more bead by piercing the last thread again.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 12

Our work looks like this and we move on to the next row, which will also be an extension, so we start by going under the first thread and end by going twice under the last thread. We stick to the pattern when it comes to colours. This is already the 7th row.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 13

We go over the beads so that the thread comes out of the middle bead in the outer row.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 14

Take 2 Toho and go through the thread as in the picture.

We pass through the bead from the bottom.

Take 1 Toho and go through next to it and then go over the beads to the other side so that the thread comes out of the middle bead.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 15

We do the star arm as before. Then we pass the remaining threads through the beads in one direction and the other. When we are sure that the thread is well secured - cut it.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 16

We prepare the stars we need for our necklace. I have 5 because it will be a short necklace.

Step 1

Step 17

We now measure the chain as long as we want our necklace to be minus the stars we add. If you have 5 stars like me, you cut it in half. From each of these halves, cut 2 shorter (x) parts so that it remains one slightly longer (y). There should be 6 parts in total.

We open the jump rings and put it carefully through the bead. And we connect all the parts together. The longer ones are added to the ends (photo above "Y")

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 18

It's ready!
