Follow my step by step tutorial on how to make a GemDuo™ Star Necklace to match the earrings. You can use the Stars to create any number of designs or projects and by simply changing the colour or finish of the beads you can create a dramatically different effect.  However you choose to use them, we would love to see your finished designs in our Facebook Group. Materials required:
TOHO™ Demi Round Beads - in sizes 8 and 11
GemDuo™ Beads
3 & 4mm Firepolish beads - any round 3 & 4mm bead will work
Beading Thread
Needles
Scissors

11DR = Size 11 Demi Round

8DR = Size 8 Demi Round

GD = GemDuo™

4FP = 4mm Firepolish (or round)

3FP = 3mm Firepolish (or round)

Step 2

Begin by cutting approx 1m of thread (an open arms width). Pick up 1 x 11DR, 1 x GD,  1 x 11DR, 1 x GD, 1 x 11DR, 1 x GD, 1 x 11DR, 1 x GD, 1 x 11DR, 1 x GD.

Pass back through the first 11DR and GD added to form a circle. Pass through all of the remaining beads until your working thread meets the tail thread. Pull snug and tie a double knot.

Tie off and trim the short tail.

Pass through the bottom hole of the nearest GD and then through the top hole of the same bead.

Pick up 1 x 8DR, 1 x 4FP & 1 x 8DR. Pass through the top hole of the next GD along. Repeat 4 more times to complete a circle.

Pass through the next 8DR. Pick up 3 x 11DR, 1 x 8DR & 3 x 11DR. Skip the 4FP and pass through the next 8DR, GD & 8DR.

Repeat 4 more times to complete the circle.

Pass through the next 3 x 11DR & 1 x 8DR. Set this finished star to one side and repeat all steps to make 2 further stars.

Pick up 3 x 11DR, 1 x 3FP, 3 x 11DR, 1 x GD, 3 x 11DR, 1 x 3FP and 9 x 11DR.

Skipping the 9 x 11DR, 1 x 3FP, 3 x 1DR and pass back through the remaining 1 x GD, 3 x 11DR, 1 x 3FP and 3 x 11DR.

Following the DR beads around the edge of the star, pass through to the next point, exiting between a 11DR and 8DR.

Repeat steps 8 and 9 but instead of adding a GD as in step 8, pass through the second hole of the GD previously added.

Re-enforce all of the beads just added by passing through all of them again as many times as your needle and thread will allow. Tie off and trim the thread.

Repeat steps 8 to 12 on a second star.

Thread your needle with the tail on the 3rd star. Pick up 1 x 11DR, 1 x 3FP and 1 x 11DR. Pass through 3 x 11DR on the bottom edge of 1 of the first 2 stars (see image)

Pass through the next GD, 8DR and 3 x 11DR.

Pick up 1 x 11DR, 1 x 3FP and 1 x 11DR and pass through 3 x 11DR on the 3rd star. 

Pass through all of the beads in this circle just created to re-enforce, ensuring you exit the 8DR on the corner of the star (see image).

Repeat steps 13 to 17 to join all 3 of the stars together.

Cut a length of cord to your desired length. Add a fold over cord end to each end. Attach a jump ring to each end and a Lobster Claw to one of them. Your necklace is ready to wear and enjoy.
