Make the most of your GemDuo beads with this quick and easy little earring tutorial. I added my favourite Flower Charm for some extra girly swish. If girly isn't your thing, perhaps you could change all the beads for a high metallic finish and swap the Flower Charm for a Tassel for a dash of sophisticated glamour. However you want to stand out in the crowd, these earrings will surely help you do it. Ready? Let's stitch! Wendy xx

Materials required:
TOHO™ Demi Round Beads - in sizes 8 and 11
GemDuo™ Beads
3 & 4mm Firepolish beads - any round 3 & 4mm bead will work
Beading Thread
Needles
Scissors

11DR = Size 11 Demi Round
8DR = Size 8 Demi Round
GD = GemDuo™
4FP = 4mm Firepolish (or round)
3FP = 3mm Firepolish (or round)

Step 2

Begin by cutting approx 1m of thread (an open arms width). Pick up 1 x 11DR, 1 x GD,  1 x 11DR, 1 x GD, 1 x 11DR, 1 x GD, 1 x 11DR, 1 x GD, 1 x 11DR, 1 x GD.

Pass back through the first 11DR and GD added to form a circle. Pass through all of the remaining beads until your working thread meets the tail thread. Pull snug and tie a double knot.

Tie off and trim the short tail.

Pass through the bottom hole of the nearest GD and then through the top hole of the same bead.

Pick up 1 x 8DR, 1 x 4FP & 1 x 8DR. Pass through the top hole of the next GD along. Repeat 4 more times to complete a circle.

Pass through the next 8DR. Pick up 3 x 11DR, 1 x 8DR & 3 x 11DR. Skip the 4FP and pass through the next 8DR, GD & 8DR.

Repeat 4 more times to complete the circle.

Pass through the next 3 x 11DR & 1 x 8DR. Set this finished star to one side and repeat all steps to make a second star.

Pass through all the holes of the beads in your path until you exit an 8DR, just before a GD. Pick up 5 x 11DR, 1 x 3FP and 10 x 11DR. Skipping the last 10 x 1DR just added, pass back through the 3FP.

Skipping the GD, pass through the next 8DR along.

Pass through all the holes of the beads in your path until you exit an 8DR, just after 3 x 11DR.

Pick up 6 x 11DR, 1 x 3FP, 2 x 11DR, 1 x 8DR, 2 x 11DR, 1 x 4FP and 10 x 11DR.  Skipping the 10 x 11DR just added, pass back through the 4FP.

Pick up 2 x 11DR, 1 x 8DR, 2 x 11Dr, 1 x 3FP and 6 x 11DR. Skipping 1 8DR point, pass through the next one  (see image).

Pass through all of the outer beads and all of those just added, as many times as the needle and thread will allow to re-enforce. 


Using jump rings, add a Flower Charm to the bottom loop and an ear wire to the top loop to finish.
