Gatsby White Necklace

Step 1

To make the tassel


Take a 7mm jump ring and approx. 1m of KO thread. Thread the KO on to the needle and tie it on to the jump ring at the opposite end to the opening. 

Step 2

Thread 10x3mm pearls, 4x4mm pearls and 5x6mm pearls on to the thread. Add a seed bead at the end and then thread the needle back up through all the pearl beads. Make sure the beads are pulled tight then stitch the thread back around the jump ring.

Step 3

Repeat step 2 until you have created 12 dangles. If you need more thread, fasten off the piece you are working with then tie another piece on to the jump ring.

Step 4

Hook the jump ring on to an eye pin and thread it through the bead cap. Create a loop on the other side at the top of the bead cap.

Step 5

To create the necklace

Cut a piece of wire approx. 25cm long. Thread through the loop at the top of the tassel you have just made until the tassel sits in the middle of the wire. Thread 1x4mm pearl, 1x8mm pearl, 2x4mm pearl and 1x8mm pearl over both ends of the wire.

Step 6

Separate the ends of wire and thread 1x4mm pearl, 5x6mm pearls and 1x4mm pearl on to each strand. Add a crimp bead to each wire and use to attach the Trinity Brass connectors.

Step 7

Thread 1x4mm pearl, 1x8mm pearl and 1x4mm pearl on to an eyepin. Create a loop and use to attach to the Trinity Brass connector. Now connect another Trinity Brass connector to the other loop. Repeat this process on the other side of the necklace.

Step 8

Cut another piece of wire approx. 60cm long. Use a crimp to attach to one of the Trinity Brass connectors. Thread on 1x4mm pearl, 5x6mm pearls and then add 8mm pearls to create your desired length (I added 35 8mm pearls but you can add more for a longer necklace. When deciding the length check that the necklace will go over your head if you are not adding a clasp). Finish with 5x6mm pearls and 1x4mm pearl and crimp to the other Trinity Brass connector. Cut off any excess wire.
