Making The Flower:
Cut a 30cm piece of 0.5mm copper wire. Thread on 5 top or side drilled semi precious drop beads in your chosen petal colour. The drill hole must go across the teardrop shape rather than up and down it.
Bring the ends of the wire together so the teardrops sit in a flower shape. Tie the ends of wire together as if you are starting a knot, then wrap over 1-2 more times to secure the flower shape.
Thread one end of wire up through the centre of the flower, and add your round, centre bead. You can choose a large or small round bead, depending on how you want the flower to look. I have used an 8mm centre bead.
Once your round bead is in place, thread the end back down through the centre of the flower. Twist the round bead to secure it in place.
Now add extra detail to the centre of the flower by adding groups of 3 semi precious chip beads to the wire around the centre bead, then twisting the wire to secure them.
The flower will feel a little floppy, so you can secure it by adding a connector to the back. This also makes it easier to attach to the design. Position it on the back of the flower, and weave the ends of wire through the loops, up through the flower and back down. Hide the end inside the flower and snip off any excess wire.
Now that you've made the flower, it's now time to make the Necklace! ...
Make a flower with the 0.5mm wire as per instructions, using fluorite drops. Embellish the centre by adding groups of 3 amethyst chips to the wire, and twisting them into position. Add the flower to a connector using the ends of wire.
Thread around 1m of seed beads onto a reel of 0.32mm wire. If you are using two colours, mix them in a random fashion as you thread.
Thread the end of wire down the French knitting bobbin, holding your seed beads back with the reel of wire. Wrap the wire round the pins and begin French knitting using the crochet hook to pick up the wire.
After you have knitted 2 rows, add a seed bead to the straight piece of wire between each pin. Continue knitting adding seed beads every row until your knitted wire reaches approx. 8.5”. Repeat steps 2-4 to create another knitted piece.
Use the end of wire to attach to the flower connector by weaving through the loop in the connector and through the bottom of the knitted piece 4-5 times. Do this using each knitted piece then snip off any excess wire. Use the same technique to attach the clasp to the other side.
