Thread the needle with a metre of KO. Pick up 1A, 1B, 1A, 1B, 1A, 1B, 1A and 1B. Take your needle back through the first A to form a circle of beads. Pass through all the beads again (ensuring you exit from a B bead) and knot the thread leaving a 6 inch tail.
Turn work over. Pass the thread through the outer hole of bead just exited from (B bead) and pick up 3C. Skipping the A, pass through the next B bead. Pick up 3C, skip the A and pass through the next B bead. Repeat this step twice more to form a full circle. Pass through the next C bead.
Turn work over. Pass through the top hole of the bead just exited from (C bead). Pick up 1D and pass though the next C. Repeat all the way around to form a full circle. Pass the needle through the top hole of the bead just exited from.
Turn work over. Pass through the top hole of the bead just exited from (D bead). Pick up 1F and pass through the next D. Repeat this step twice more. Pick up 1E and pass through the next D. Repeat this step to form a full circle.
Pass back through the last row added to reinforce, tying knots between beads to secure. Trim the thread. Thread the tail left at the beginning and repeat the knotting and tying off process.
Open the Ear wire and thread onto your work at the top, centremost point.
Note – Tension will affect the appearance of the finished piece. Tight tension will pull the circle into a dimensional dome whereas loose tension will produce a flatter, floppier finish.
