Step 1
Firstly, on three arm spans of thread, pick up alternatively eight 8M and eight 8A.
Step 2
Then, sew through all beads again to form a circle and tie firmly.
Step 3
Next, exiting from any 8M, pick up one 6M and sew through the following 8M. Repeat this seven times.
Step 4
After that, exiting from any 6M, pick up one 4M, one 8A and one 4M. Sew through the following 6M. Repeat seven more times exiting from any 8A.
Step 5
Then, pick up two 11S, one 6M and two 11S. Sew through the following 8A from the previous step. Repeat seven more times, exiting from any 6M. The edges will begin to raise up like a bowl, this is correct.
Step 6
Gently pulling the thread in this round to ensure that there are no gaps, pick up one 11S, one 3/4R and one 11S. Sew through the next 6M. Repeat this seven more times, exiting from any 6M.
Step 7
We are now going to strengthen the sides of our garland. Pick up one 11S, one 4C and one 11S. Keeping these beads on the inside of your piece, sew down through the nearest 8A from step 1. Then picking up the same beads (11S, 4C,11S) sew up to the next 3/4R added in step 6. This will form a "V" shape inside the piece. Repeat this seven more times exiting from any 3/4R.
Step 8
Next, picking up two 11S, one 4RC and two 11S, sew through the next 3/4R, pulling gently so that there are no gaps. Repeat seven more times exiting from any 4RC.
Step 9
Then, pick up one 11S, one 3/4R and one 11S. Sew through the next 4RC. Repeat seven more times exiting from any 11S before a 4RC.
Step 10
Following that, pick up three 11S which will wrap around the 4RC, then, sew through the beads from the previous step until we reach the next 4RC. Repeat this step seven more times exiting from any second 11S just added.
Step 11
Pick up one 11S, one 8B and one 11S. Sew through the second 11S added in the previous step. Repeat seven more times. Sew through all beads in this ring again for strength and to create an even circle. Then, sew back through all previous rows, keeping the tread concealed, until the thread exits any 8A from step 1.
Step 12
Following that, pick up six 11S and sew through the next 8A, wrapping the 11S around the 8M. Then, sew back up through the last two 11S just added. Pick up four 11S and sew into the next 8A. Continue around your piece by sewing up through the last two 11S added and picking up four 11S until the final 8M is reached. Sew up through the last two 11S, pick up two 11S and sew down through the first two 11S added in this step.
Step 13
Then, sew through any 8M, up through the two 11s and across through the two 11S at the top of the 8M. Pick up one 8B and sew through the next two 11S. Continue in this way to complete the inner ring of beads and make everything neat. Exit through any 8B.
Step 14
Finally, sew through all of the rows, keeping the thread concealed, until we exit any 8A from step 4. Pick up nine 11S and a jump ring. Sew through this loop several times for strength and tie off. Add a hanging ribbon.
