Talented friend of Beads Direct, Angela Buxton has been busy beading lots of beautiful projects. Here, she takes a little time out to share with us these gorgeous little dainty earrings and how to make them! Folllow her step by step tutorial to make yourself a pair in your own colour combination. You would be surprised at how different they can look, just by changing the colour and texture of the beads. Have fun! 

Materials required;

4mm Firepolish - any 4mm round would suffice
3mm Firepolish - any 3mm round would suffice
Size 11 Seed Beads
Flower Pendants
Beading Thread
Needle
Scissors
Pliers

Step 1

To start, cut approximately 60 cm of thread. Thread on of 5 x 4mm beads, make a loop and tie a knot to secure. Pass through the next 2 beads in the loop just formed.

Pick up a 3mm round and pass through the next 4mm round. Continue round, adding a 3mm bead between each 4mm bead. When you get back to the first 4mm bead, step up by passing through the next 3mm bead along.

Now it's time to start adding the seed beads. Pick up 3 x size 11 seed beads and pass through the next 3mm round bead along. Continue round the circle in the same manner. When you get back to the beginning, continue through the first 2 x seed beads added.

Pick up 3 x seed beads and go back through the bead your thread exits from, but in the opposite direction. Pass through the next seed bead, 3mm bead and 2 x seed bead. Repeat all the way round the ring.

Pass through the next 3mm bead along and pick up 1 x seed bead. Pass through the 3 seed beads added in the previous round and pick up another seed bead. Pass though the next 3mm bead.
Again, repeat all the way round the circle.

On exiting the last 3mm round, pick up a flower pendant. Go back through the 3mm round but from the opposite direction. Repeat a couple of times to re-enforce, tie off both thread ends and secure (see step 10 for a short video if you need help with this step).

Repeat all steps to make a second earring and secure earwires to the top of each.

Your earrings are now ready to be anjoyed!
