The talented Alicja Czapla has prepared a tutorial for you in which she will show you how to make a beautiful necklace using CRAW, quartz and a tassel. Tassel necklaces are a definite hit this summer, and in this tutorial we will show you how to enrich them with additional elements that will make them even more effective. The necklace is simple to make, so we encourage beginners to try it. Let's stitch! 

Materials required:
Rondelle 4x6mm e.g. Milly™ or Frozen™
TOHO beads  - size 11/0
Quartz  - Druzy Quartz / Irregular Bead
Tassel  - length 70mm
Eye pins  - 50-60mm
Bail - about 7.5x14x8mm
Needle
Beading thread  - e.g. One-G in matching color with beads or fishing line 0.16
Jewelry tools  - cutters and pliers

1 . Pick up 4 rondelle beads.

2 . Thread the needle through them again.

3 . Pull the thread tight to make a small circle.

4 . Tie the ends of the thread. Do not cut the tail end of thread.

Thread through the bead as shown in the picture.

5.  Pick up 3 rondelle beads and pass the needle from the opposite side of the bead from which the thread comes out.

6 . Pass through 2 of the beads just added.

7.  Pick up 3 rondelle beads and pass the needle from the opposite side of the bead from which the thread comes out.

8. Pass through 2 of the beads just added.

9. Pick up one rondelle bead and pass the needle down through the bead on the far left.

10 . Pick up another rondelle bead  and pass up through the bead your thread is exiting from on the right.

11. Firmly pull the thread to form a tight ball of beads.

12. Pass several times through the beads at the top and bottom (the ones highlighted marked).

13. Pick up 7 seed beads.

14.  Pass the needle through the bead shown in the picture.

15. Pick up 3 seed beads and pass the needle  through the 4th seed bead previously added.

16. Pick up 3 seed beads and insert the needle into the rondelle bead as in the picture.

17. Pass through to the next rondelle on the right.

18. Repeat the steps 13 to 17 until we have seed bead crossed on 4 sides.

19. Your work should now look something like the picture.

20.  There will be visible gaps, which are not very aesthetically pleasing. Fill the gaps by adding two seed beads to these gaps

22. Thread one rondelle bead our "ball" and another rondelle onto an eye pin.

23 . Leaving an approx 1cm tail, cut the eye pin. Using round or snipe nose pliers, form a loop with this 1cm tail.

24 . On a second eye pin, thread one rondelle bead, the quartz and a rondelle bead.

25.  Again, leaving an approx 1cm tail, cut the eye pin. Using round or snipe nose pliers, form a loop with this 1cm tail., while connecting it to the eye of the pin on the previously created ball.

26. Now create a peyote band to embellish our tassel.

Pick up 7 seed beads.

27. Insert the needle into the third bead.

28.   Then add one bead, every other bead to the end of the row

29. And we repeat these actions until we get the desired length of our peyote strap.

30. Ensure the band fist snugly to ensure it does not fall from the tassel. Sew both ends together at the back so that you have something like this.

31. Attach the ball and quartz to the tassel with the eye of the eye pin.

32. Attach the bail to the eye of the pin on the quartz.

33. Add your pendant to a chain or leather thong to finish.
