Crystal Rivoli Earrings - step by step jewellery making tutorial

Designed by: Monika Wojdyla

Difficulty: Beginner

Rating:

There are so many ways you can wear these shimmering Bonny Crystals. This time Monika decided to show you how to embellish them with Tile Beads. This is one of the simpler ways so we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Ready? Let's Stitch!

Materials needed:

Remember that our tutorials are mainly designed to teach you technique and bring inspiration, so your jewellery doesn't have to look exactly like the one in the tutorial. Don't be afraid to experiment with shapes and colours.

Please note that the colours for the products illustrated in the image above may not match the 'Products List'.

Step 1

Thread 4 Tile and 4 Toho 11/0 alternately on the thread

We tie them in a circle with a strong knot.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 2

Pass through to the hole above in the Tile bead.

Pick up a Toho 11 - a Firepolish 3mm - a Toho 11 and pass through the next Tile.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 3

We add such a sequence between all Tiles.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 4

We pass through so that the thread comes out of Toho 11 bead and pick up 5 Toho 11.

We pass through the Toho bead next to it and pass the thread so that the it comes out of the Toho bead from the next sequence.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 5

Pick up another 5 Toho 11 and pass through the next Toho. Continue until the end of the round. We will have 4 points in total.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 6

Pass the needle so that the thread comes out from the tip of the first "point".

Take 2 Toho and pass through the Toho 11 bead from the tip of the "point" next to it.

We will add 2 Toho between all the cloves. CAUTION!!! You can add 2 and 3 Toho alternately between "cloves". It will be easier for you to pull it back later. You'll see it later.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 7

We put in a rivoli and tighten. If you've tweaked 2 Toho, it will be a bit of a challenge. Pass through this circle, 4 to 5 time to stiffen. If you put 3 and 2 Toho between the cloves, it will be easier for you and maybe it's better at the beginning.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 8

We are now following the thread up.

Step 1

Step 9

The thread should protrude from a Toho on the edge. We now pick up 5 or 7 Toho 15/0 and earwires - Depending on how big a loop you need under the earwires.

We pass through the Toho bead next to it.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 10

Pass the thread down the earring, ensuring the thread comes out of a Tile and then a Toho.

We are now going to add our chosen drop.  Pick up 3 Toho, 1 CrytsaLove and 1 Toho. Pass back through the CrystaLove and the next Toho. Pick up 2 more Toho and skipping the Firepolish, pass through the next Toho.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 11

We pass through and around the whole earring, making knots between the beads. We also go through the loop on which the earwire is hanging. Do not cut the short thread at the beginning, but first run it over the earring making knots between the beads and then cut it off.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 12

And these are my variations on the Rivoili and Tile earrings.
