A black bracelet with blue faceted beads is my suggestion for a summer bracelet for an evening out with friends. You can of course change the colour of both the cord and beads and make something to match your mood. Ready? Let's Braid!
You can add all the items you need to your basket by clicking the box in the 'Products used' section above, or you can let your imagination run wild and choose your own materials from the links below. Please note that the colours for the products illustrated in the image above may not match the 'Products List'.
- Cord - I used 0.8mm. Any cord up to 1 mm thick
- Rondell's - 4×6 mm with a hole size of 1mm or more
- Charm/Pendant - I chose a butterfly
- Jump Rings - Optional
- Clasp - Optional
- Scissors/Cutters
- Lighter
Remember - our tutorials are for inspiration and learning purposes. They include links to the relevant categories for you to choose your own colour combinations and we positively encourage you to experiment with different shapes, sizes, finishes, composition and texture. Why not choose your own beads and colours to achieve something in your own style? Let your imagination run wild and make your dream jewellery.

Step 1
We cut 3 lengths of our cord (it's better to have too much than not enough). 1 needs to be the length of your wrist plus 20cm - this will be your central string. The other 2 need to be twice the length of the 1st.
Group them together and measure 10cm (we will use the 10 cm tails to make an adjustable bracelet at the end). If you prefer your bracelet to be fastened with a lobster clasp, prepare the links and clasp. You will mount them on the first macramé element.
Step 2
Connect the strings with a knot.
Step 3
Grab the cords with the work mat pin. Arrange them as shown in the picture, with the shortest in the middle.
Step 4
Move the left cord away from the other two so that it does not interfere with our further work.
Step 5
We are now going to braid the right cord on the middle cord. Put the right cord over the middle cord, then under it and put it into the loop you have created. We draw. Put the same right cord under the central cord, then put it over it and put it into the loop. We draw. We have the first knot ready.
Step 6
Again, put the right cord over the central cord, creating a loop, then under it and put the right cord into the loop. Now put the left cord under the central cord again, making a loop, then place it over it and insert the right cord into the loop. We draw. We have a second knot.
Step 7
How many knots we want to have depends on us. In my bracelet, I did 4 on each side, at the same time I did not tighten each element so that the beads had "play".
Step 8
We have finished one item. Put aside the right cord. We take the left one and put a bead on it. Repeat the same steps as for the right cord.
Step 9
We take the left cord. We put it over the central cord creating a loop, then under the central cord and put it into the loop. We draw. Place the same left cord under the central cord to form a loop, then over the central cord and insert it into the loop. We draw. We have a knot ready. We repeat the activity 4 times as before.
Step 10
This is what our bracelet should look like after performing the described steps.
Step 11
Put a bead on the right cord. And we repeat all the steps.
Step 12
This is what my bracelet looks like. I have 6 beads on the left side. I put the sixth bead on the right side.
Step 13
I grab all the cords and tie the knot. If you want to use a clasp to finish, you add a jump rings and the clasp here and attach the charm to a jump ring on one side.
Step 14
OR Just like in Monika's Macramé Trio, we will also weave with a flat knot. We have to arrange the cords of the bracelet so that they run in opposite directions and put a cord under them, with which we will weave. The length of this cords depends on what the long clasp is to be. For me it is about 20 cm of cord.
We weave the whole bracelet with a flat knot.
Step 15
I attach a butterfly pendant to the knots. We tie a knot on each of the cords (You can also add a bead to each of the cords before you tie knots for an extra flourish).
