Learn how to make these beautiful Anemone Earrings using a Swarovski Chaton and Seed Beads.

Step 1

Rose petal beads

Size 15 seed beads-A

Size 11 seed beads-B

Size 15 seed beads -C

28mm Swarovski chatons

1 prEarwires

1Bee charm (optional)

Pick up 10A, go through them all again, and the first one once more to bring them into a circle.

Step 2

Pick up 2A, 1B, 2A and go through the bead you were exiting again, and the next bead in the circle, to create a RAW stitch.

Step 3

Pick up 2A, 1B and go down through the first 2A in Step 2, the bead you were exiting, and the next one in the circle.

Step 4

Repeat Step 3 seven more times.

Step 5

To make the last RAW stitch go up through the 2A added in the first RAW stitch, pick up 1B, and go down through the 2A of the previous stitch. Work through to exit a B bead.

Step 6

Pick up 1B and go through the next B to create a peyote stitch. Repeat nine more times to complete the row and step up through the first B added.

Step 7

Repeat Step 6 to add a second row of peyote in B beads.

Step 8

Place the chaton inside the bezel, pick up 1A and go through the next B bead. Repeat nine more times to complete the row, retracing the thread path through these beads to tighten the bezel around the chaton.

Step 9

Adding the Petals

Exiting a B bead at the front of the bezel, pick up 2C, 1 petal (going through it from front to back), 2C and go through the next B bead round the bezel but in the back row.

Step 10

Pick up 2C, 1 petal (going through it from back to front), 2C and go through the next B bead on the front of the bezel.

Step 11

Repeat Steps 9 and 10 all the way round the bezel. The petals will look a little wonky at this point but the next step will neaten them up.

Step 12

Work through to exit one of the unused B beads in the front of the bezel. Pick up 2C, go through the petal bead (from front to back as before), pick up 2C and go through the next unused B bead on the back of the bezel just like you did in Step 9.

Step 13

Work in this way all the way around, adding 2C to the front and back of each petal as before. The petals should now all sit nicely around the edge of the bezel.

Step 14

Step up through the first 2C on the petal. Pick up 1C and go through the next 2C on this petal and the first 2C on the next petal.

Step 15

Repeat Step 14 all the way around the flower then work through to the back and repeat to add 1C between each pair of 2C stitches on the back too.

Step 16

Finishing off

Exiting one of the point beads added in Step 15 (on the back of the flower), pick up 15C and an earwire making sure that the earwire is facing the right way. Go through the bead you were exiting and all 15C again to strengthen the loop. Finish off the thread ends.

Step 17

Optional Step - stitch the bee charm on to the front of the flower, using one of the point beads.

Step 18

Make a second earring to match the first. I chose to put the bee charm on only one but you could add one to both if you wish.
