Blissful Blue Carrier Duo Earrings

Step 1

To make a peyote strip to cover your carrier beads, you can follow the instructions found in our Carrier Bead project sheet.

Click the 'download here' button below and follow pattern number 5 on the 3rd page of the project sheet. You will also find full instructions on how to create your peyote strip if you have never made one for a carrier bead before.

Make two strips of peyote and sew them closed around your carrier duo beads.

Take an arms length of thread and sew through one hole on your carrier bead, leaving a tail. 

Pick up 1 x 3mm bicone, 1 x black seed bead, 1 x 4mm bicone, 1 x black seed bead, 1 x droplet, 1 x black seed, 1 x 4mm bicone, 1 x black seed, 1 x 3mm bicone and thread through the other side of the carrier bead.

Onto your thread, pick up 1 x 3mm bicone, 1 x 4mm bicone, 1 x 3mm bicone. Pick up 2 x black seed beads, 1 x metallic seed bead, 7 x black seed beads and thread back down through the metallic seed bead. 

Pick up 2 x black seed beads, 1 x 3mm bicone, 1 x 4mm bicone, 1 x 3mm bicone and knot your two ends of thread together twice. Make sure there are no gaps between the beads. 

Thread through the carrier bead hole and thread around all the beads again, knot your thread to the main thread between some beads along the way. Repeat this with your tail thread, weaving it around the loop of beads at the top and down the other side of beads. Knot the two threads together if they meet up. Trim off your excess thread when you are confident your earring won't unravel.

Finally, open a jumpring and attach it to the loop of seed beads. Thread on your earwire and close the jumpring securely. 

Repeat these steps for your second earring.
