Asymmetric Feather Earrings

How long do you dare to wear your earrings? Big earrings are the trend for autumn/winter 2018 but the wonderful thing about jewellery making is that you can make them to suit you! Whether you like them shorter or long and asymmetric, these earrings with new feather charms are bound to get you noticed!

Step 1

Each earring is made up of four strands. The shorter earring uses for strands of cupchain, the longer one has two strands of cupchain and two strand of strung beads.

To make the small earring.
Cut four lengths of cupchain measuring 8.5cm, 7cm, 3cm and 5.5cm. Attach 1 cupchain to one each strand. On two of them add another end to the opposite side. On those two ends, attach a feather charm to the loop with a jumpring. Now take a jumpring and attach the top of each chain to the loop and close the jumpring. Take an eyepin, open the loop and connect it to the jumpring. Insert the eyepin through a beadcap so that the jumpring is hidden inside. Then add a gemstone to the top before bending the eyepin to a 90-degree angle, trimming and making a loop with your pliers. Then attach the loop you just made to a jumpring and attach that to the earwire.

Step 2

To make the longer earring
Cut two lengths of cupchain 1x 22cm and 1x 18cm.
On one chain attach two cupchain ends and just one on the other. Attach the feather charm to the cupchain with two ends using a jumpring. Take your strand of beads and fold it so that we are not quite in half. Connect three feather charms to a jumpring each and attach them at different lengths on your beads. Take a jumpring and link it to the beads where you folded it. Add you cupchain strands too.
