Follow Sarah Millsop and learn how to create a really unique layered-look necklace. She'll take you through creating a graduated effect using cords and teach you how to attach strips of beads and pearls to your piece. Choose how long you want your necklace to be and enjoy personalising and embellishing your own unique design! We have chosen a blue coloured leather and matching beads, feel free to mix and match the colours and sizes of beads to create your own unique look. Whatever you choose to do, we would love to see your finished works of art in our Facebook Group, Beads Direct & Friends

Let's bead!

Products needed:
Leather cord - we have chosen 2mm leather, however braided leather or a larger size would work great with this design
CrystaLove™ bicones - 8mm bicones
TOHO™ round seed beads in a size 8
Pendant - we have chosen a night cairo pendant that has a bail already attached. You could even bezel around a large cabochon and create your own unique pendant
Faceted round beads 6mm - night cairo beads have been selected but any faceted round beads would work
Round beads in 6mm - SeaStar™ beads have been selected for this design
Cord ends - a 10mm cord end is suitable for 5x 2mm leather, if you are changing the size of your leather the cord ends will also need to be considered

Our tutorials are for inspiration and learning purposes. They include links to the relevant categories for you to choose your own colour combinations and we positively encourage you to experiment with different shapes, sizes, finishes, composition and texture. Why not choose your own beads and colours to achieve something in your own style? Let your imagination run wild and make your dream piece of jewellery! <3
