In this gorgeous gemstone necklace design, you will learn how to make a pretty beaded necklace using apatite gemstone beads and make an unusual tassel pendant with wire wrapped seed beads!
Cut a 30cm length of wire and wrap the tail end around the pendant. Now you are going to weave around the outside, adding a seed bead with every wrap. Continue all the way around and once you reach the end, wrap the end of the wire and trim the excess.
Take a new piece of wire and wrap it around the centre of your connector to secure it. Then add a gemstone bead and weave the wire so that the bead sits in one of the gaps. Continue to add another three beads in the same way. Wrap the end of the wire to secure and trim away the tail end.
Open a pair of jumprings and link them together. Attach one side to the connector. Now take an eyepin and thread on a spacer bead, a large silver bead and another spacer bead. Make a loop at the other end. Connect this piece to the bottom jumpring of the connector.
To make the tassels, make a series of different beaded eyepins using a mixture of seed beads, gemstones and spacer beads. Be sure to use a headpin for the bottom ones! Make three 5cm tassels and link them together at the top with a jumpring. Connect this to the bottom jumpring of the last piece you added to the pendant.
To make the necklace chain, create a mixture of beaded eyepins like before and connect them all together with jumprings. We used gemstones, the saucer shaped beads from the findings kit, round and flat spacer beads and seed beads. Once you are happy with the length, attach a clasp to the end.
