Nugget

Nugget beads are irregular shapes of semi-precious or gemstone bead that are smoothed to remove any points or sharp edges. This smooth finish is often achieved by using a tumbler, a machine that is loaded with stones or grit before rotating to allow the nuggets to side past each other with abrasive grit between, hence smoothing the surface. This coined the name ‘tumble nugget’ which is another way to describe a nugget bead.
