Today is the day of love, in fact with it being a leap year the whole of February is the month of love, as February 29th is the day where it is traditionally acceptable for women to propose to men. Since the 17th Century, Valentine’s Day has been celebrated here in Britain, even then friends and lovers would exchange hand written notes and small gifts to express their love for one another. After Christmas, Valentine’s Day is the second biggest card sending event around the world.
Hearts, flowers (we’ve had a couple of deliveries of those here today!!) roses, pinks and reds all come to mind when you think of Valentines Day. There is no better way to be dressed for the day then with some themed accessories, necklaces, rings, bracelets etc are all delightful ways to celebrate the day of love (they are great for gifting too!!). Sometimes it is the simplest of pieces that are the most effective.

Talking of the simple things, nothing else but a little pack of these Love Heart Sweets on your desk when you arrive at work can bring a smile to a person’s face.
You would need 64,800 love heart sweets to reach the top of the Eiffel tower, a place that on average has twenty times more proposals on the 14th of February.http://www.lovehearts.com/fun_facts.php
Adding your own little twist and thinking outside the box is the perfect way to add your own personality to this day. This necklace featuring lovebird owls represents one of the original ideas that Valentines Day should be in the middle of February as the 14th is thought to be the start of the bird mating season! The red rose and love heart keep in line with the traditional themes of the day. (They also match my appropriately themed red outfit!)
Bronze tone owl with a Swarovski Heart and Fimo rose.
