Your design will be sold on Accessories Direct as a part of the Spring/Summer 2012 jewellery range, and you (or your brand name) will be listed as the designer so this is a FANTASTIC opportunity to gain brand recognition. The winning designers will also be interviewed for the accessories and Beads Direct blogs, giving you another platform to allow potential customers to find out about you and engage with your jewellery brand.
So what do I need to do?
You need to design and make a commercial piece of jewellery to submit to the accessories direct judges. You will need to take into account everything that Buying Director Eleanor Kirby looks for in a jewellery piece to sell, check her blog article to find out what she’s after.
This competition is all about designing jewellery that sells so the winners will be chosen on the factors outlined in Eleanor’s blog. They won’t necessarily be the most technically complex designs, they will be the designs that accessories direct believe they can sell to their customer base. Why not take a look at their current jewellery range for inspiration.
How do I enter?
1. Download the entry form which will be available next week, and complete it, sending it along with a good photograph of your design to competition@beadsdirect.co.uk before 31st January 2012.
What Happens Next?
Eleanor and the Accessories Direct team will make a shortlist of 20 designs which will be called in for judging. If you are part of the short list you will be invited to send us your designs so it can be looked at in the flesh. The three winners will be selected from this 20 by Eleanor and her judging team.
Rules:
1. Beads and components used to make your design should be purchased from Beads Direct so that we can provide materials should your design win a commission.
2. Entries from the UK and overseas are all welcome.
3. Entrants should be over 18 years of age.
4. More than one design can be entered per person, each design will be selected on its own merit.
